Charity Fund "Medical Relief"
was founded in 2003.
Charity Fund Purposes:
Training of Ukrainian physicians to modern techniques of treatment and the organization of public health services in the leading domestic and foreign centers.
Oganization of work in clinics of Ukraine of leading foreign experts.
Reequipment of medical establishments by the modern equipment and materials.
Construction of the modern multipurpose hospital working at a world level which could be the educational center for young physicians training.
Organisation of seminars, congresses, conferences on new directions in medicine.
With the purpose of improvement of quality and efficiency of treatment of patients, introduction of new progressive forms of medical aid, assistance to equipment of medical establishments with the modern equipment we developed «The Program of the medical charitable help in Kiev».
For this purpose «Agreement about cooperation and the organization of mutual relations" with many scientific and medical establishments of Kiev, the international charitable organizations are signed up.
Over 300 Ukrainian physicians of various specialties (surgeons, oncologists, endocrinologists, pulmonologists, plastic surgeons, etc.) from Kiev, Odessa, Vinnitsa, Rivne, Cherkassy, Dnepropetrovsk have taken part in realization of this Program.
In particular, the Program has facilitated the promotion by corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Chief cardiosurgeon of Ministry of Health care of Ukraine, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Fund, Professor Anatoliy Rudenko and implementation in Ukraine on the base of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after academician Amosov of АМS of Ukraine of a new technique of surgical treatment of ischemic heart disease - coronary artery bypass grafting on a beating heart (off-pump), reducing the mortality rate from 11,1% (as of 2000) to 0,5% (currently). The introduction of this technique made possible: to reduce mortality by 22 times, increase the number of operations in 9 times and significantly reduce the cost of the operation. By this technique have been already operated more than 5000 patients.
The program's success contributed to the close cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, U.S. politicians (Chet Edwards, Member of Congress; Jim Dunnam, State Representative), businessmen (Carey Hobbs, Harold Cobb, Todd Dorton, Bill Johnson, Bob Neil и др.), American and European charity organizations (International Medical Educational Foundation, Texas, USA; Bill Basansky Ministries, Florida, USA; L.I.CO.S. Onlus, “HELIOS ONLUS”, Italy; Association Internationale de Cooperation Medicale, France и т.д.), large American and European medical centers (Providence Healthcare Network, Scott & White Healthcare, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, St.Jude Children's Research Hospital, Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in the USA, The Hopital Necker - Enfants Malades, Hopital Europeen Georges Pompidou in France, L'Ospedale dei Bambini di Brescia, Ospedale San Vincenzo – Taormina, Azienda Ospedaliero - Universitaria "Policlinico - Vittorio Emanuele" in Italy, etc.), leading domestic and foreign health care professionals.
During November, 20-28, 2010 at the invitation of our partners - the Italian charity "HELIOS ONLUS", and University medical association AOU "Policlinico - Vittorio Emanuele", Catania, Sicily, Italy, representatives of medical institutions of Ukraine under the leadership of the People's Deputy of Ukraine Yuriy Samoilenko visited Italy. As a result of the visit was signed the agreement on long-term cooperation on the implementation of charitable medical programs whose implementation would improve the quality of medical care to citizens of Ukraine and Italy.

2. Program of treatment abroad of patients with rare / complex diseases, which, for whatever reason can not be cured in Ukraine, assistance providing.

In order to improve the quality of medical care to citizens of Ukraine, we began treatment programs of our patients in partners’ clinics in the U.S. (Memphis, Tennessee) and Italy (Brescia, Catania and Taormina, Sicily). Together with our patients in the clinics stay Ukrainian doctors to observe the course of treatment. For today, such assistance has already received more than 10 patients from different regions of Ukraine.
This program allows to successfully solve the problem of transfer to Ukraine of international best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases.
As part of this program, according to cooperation agreements, various medical equipment and supplies (total amount of more than several millions of hryvnia) were presented to the leading medical centers: the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after Amosov, National Institute of tuberculosis and pulmonology named after Yanovsky, National Medical University named after Bogomolets, Kiev Center for bone marrow transplantation and other.

We are currently working on the
creation in Ukraine of the system of medical technoparks
(the modern American type hospitals, which will become the technological platforms for the introduction of new treatment methods, training of medical staff, students and teachers of medical universities, telemedicine implementation).
As a pilot project it is supposed to build (with the participation of foreign and Ukrainian investors) in Ukraine of the American type International Medical Center, which has no analogues in Ukraine (Non-government Non-profit Digital Hospital, Research & Training Center).
Our charity activity is based on attracting donations from business corporations, individuals, international organizations and charity funds.
